Granite, 240 x 102 x 80 cm

Command of the Syndicat mixte "le Lac de Vassivière" (owner Syndicat mixte "le Lac de Vassivière") in 1983

Born 1939 in Tokyo in Japan, Takera Narita died in Paris in France in 2001.

This artwork has been realized for the Symposium organized in 1983 on Vassivière island. "Sculpting means approaching the block of material for a dialogue to arise between the stone's demands and the revealing tool of my creative will. I felt great joys in the effort of the cutting, allowing me to "reach out" and animate this granite, to reveal the soul of the stone, who, when I left it, had its own radiance". Takera Narita's work displays two blocks of granite one on top of the other without touching since the top block rests in equilibrium on three stones thus revealing the surrounding landscape.
